Photo Essay: Chuefeng Buddhist Art Park

Gleaming Silver Amitabha

In 2010, Master Kuan Chien, the daughter of famous sculptor Yang Ying Feng , obtained 24 acres of scenic land near a Beitou nature reserve to create the Chuefeng Buddhist Art Park. She then commissioned famous Japanese architect Tadao Ando to design and build a monastery to further her life long mission to revive Buddhist art and sculpture. Currently, the site has temporary structures for Buddhist education and ceremonies, and extensive grounds housing beautiful Buddhist sculptures, many of whom were her famous father’s works. Construction of the Tadao Ando designed monastery begins next month.
